Hardboards
Otherwise known as Coverboard or Roof Board, Sika Sarnafil uses fire-resistant gypsum-based hardboard, with or without insulation, as an overlayment or thermal barrier under Sika Sarnafil roof membranes.
See our Product Data Sheets for more information.
Here are two examples of the hardboard cover boards used within the Sika Sarnafil roof systems:
Dens-Deck™ is a ridgid, non-structural, glass-mat faced, moisture resistant, gypsum core panel. This treated gypsum core is an integral part of the inorganic glass mat surfacing on both sides. Together these materials provide dimensional stability and thermal protection of the structural deck, insulation and Sika Sarnafil membranes. It is available in 4x4 ft and 4x8 ft board sizes. It has a flame spread rating of zero. |
Dens-Deck Prime™ is a roof board that offers the same qualities of traditional Dens-Deck but also offers a proprietary non-asphaltic, heat-cured coating that allows the roofing membrane to bond more firmly. Its baked-on coating seals the filaments of the glass mat so adhesive spreads smoothly, providing a more uniform bond. The sealed surface also allows the adhesive to dry more evenly, speeding installation and increasing the quality of the roofing job.

Securock® Roof Board is a rigid, fiber reinforced, moisture resistant gypsum panel used with or without insulation as an overlayment or thermal barrier. It is compatible with all Sarnafil membranes in mechanically attached applications, without the use of a seperation layer. |
