Separation and Levelling Layers
Sika Sarnafil offers two types of separation layers for use within its roofing systems – one that can also be used for leveling as well as separation, and one that is used as a separation layer only.
See our Product Data Sheets for more information.

Sarnafelt is a leveling and /or separation layer composed of non-woven, unsaturated polyester. It serves as a leveling layer for irregular surfaces and also as a separation layer between the Sarnafil membrane and existing bituminous roof systems. Sarnafelt can be installed on walls, curbs and deck substrates using Sarnacol adhesives in adhered applications and loose-laid over substrates in mechanically-attached roof applications.

Sarnabarrier is a lightweight separation layer installed under Sarnafil S327 or G476 (waterproofing) membranes to separate the membrane from unfaced extruded or expanded polystyrene. Unfaced polystyrene is incompatible with Sarnafil PVC membranes without a separation layer. It is inexpensive and simple to install. It is not a fire-resistant barrier.
