Sika Sarnafil Inc. is looking for Machine Operators for our headquarters in Canton, MA for various shifts. The employees in this position are responsible for supporting our PLC controlled 120” wide tandem flexible PVC extrusion coating or the 78” touch screen controlled line. The operation will require the assistance of our A-operators including set up, operation, breakdown and cleaning of all components, and the development of proper processing parameters during operation to optimize line speeds and yields. The ideal candidates have experience in plastic or web processing, vinyl coating or the printing industry. This position reports to the shift foreman. The responsibilities include:
Assist in operation, set up breakdown and cleaning of the production equipment
Utilizing touch screen computers and plc processing equipment
Monitor of material feed
Mix batches of plastisol, dry blend/compound and lacquer
Handling Monitor production and make quality control checks
Run coating heads and packaging line and winder
Operate lift truck to position materials.
Maintenance of good housekeeping
Follow company environmental and safety policies.
Other duties as they arise.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
High School degree preferred
Ability to read and write English
Good verbal communications skills
Understanding of (computerized) controlled production lines
Ability to learn and understand technology associated with plastics processing
Prior experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination or printing production preferred
Ability to work overtime if required
Willingness to work shift hours
Forklift experience strongly desirable
Some knowledge of computer applications is desirable
Physical Requirements:
Stand and walk for the majority of an 8 hour shift
Ability to climb stairs and stand most of the time during a 8 hour + shift
No fear of heights
Adequate vision
Lifting of up to 80 pounds
Ability to crouch, bend and kneel occasionally
