insulation protection layer, such as G445 or HDPE may be required.

Sarnatherm XPS and XPS Tapered are rigid, extruded polystyrene insulation boards loose-laid directly on the substrate or directly over the Sika Sarnafil waterproofing system. The core is extruded polystyrene closed-cell foam. Both are available in various sizes and thicknesses depending on the thermal resistance requirements. |

G445 Protection Layer
G445 protection layer is a flexible thermoplastic protection layer intended for applications requiring high dimensional stability, intricate flashings or transitions and overburden protection. It is loose-laid over the Sarnafil waterproofing system to form a protective layer. It is ideal protection for intricate flashings, multiple elevation changes and light-duty overburden.

HDPE Protection Layer
High density polyethylene (HDPE) is a 40-mil thick extruded, highly puncture resistant protection layer. It is compatible with all Sarnafil membranes and systems – without the use of a separation layer in most applications. It is easily installed over the completed waterproofing system. HDPE is intended for use with very heavy overburdens when dimensional stability is not a concern.
